OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) — The story of Kristin Friehe’s pregnancy virtually ended in tragedy. She nearly died after giving birth to her son Owen, who’s now 4 years old.
Kristin’s husband Mitch remembers his wife complaining of abdominal discomfort prior to she was ultimately rushed to Methodist Women’s Hospital for an emergency C-section.
“I wasn’t all set to do this about my own. I required her and my son was undoubtedly heading to demand his mom,” said Mitch.
Doctors had to deliver Owen 6 weeks very early due to the fact that Kristin’s liver had ruptured. Her OBGYN, Dr. Judith Scott, said Kristin was among the sickest patients she’d ever seen. Dr. Scott was portion of the Methodist medical group that diagnosed Kristin along with “HELLP” syndrome: an incredibly rare health problem in pregnant women.
